ParanoIA was co-founded by Marcia Bowling and Brad Volkmer on 2 Feb 2010. The team of Investigators include Sam Haynes, Glenn McPherson, Theresa Ragland, Kira & Stan Reed, and Wendy Ellis. Suffice it to say we are professionals working in the North Alabama area. This is a post work activity to us and non-profit. We each have our own personal reasons for wanting to do this. I have a love for old buildings and houses. All old houses come with tall tales of “hauntings”. So when we bought one of our own, 12 years ago, we were anxious to meet our own Alabama ghost! What we soon found, was the GHOST OF MARVIN GAYE!! He woke us each morning at 7:00 to some soulful tunes. Anxious to prove my suspicions and brag to all my friends, we began ghost hunting in our own home. We quickly debunked our theory when we found an old CD player shoved in the back of the closet with Marvin Gaye’s Greatest Hits set to act as an alarm each morning! What a disappointment, but not a deterrent. I am now on my own quest to discover a famous ghost, or continue to debunk other suspicions. I’m not really a believer, but I have seen some weird things. Although I can’t confirm that it’s not a 30-year old mind game after being up all night! It’s always a lot of fun to hang out with friends, spooks, and strange noises in the night! As a child “13 Alabama Ghosts and Jeffrey” by Kathryn Tucker Windham and Margaret Gillis Figh was great summer night reading. So needless to say questioning happenings, events, and things that go bump in the night was instilled in me a long time ago. Now with current day TV programs like TAPs and Paranormal Activities, that questioning has been reawakened in me. I have witnessed happenings and events that I couldn’t readily explain both as a child and now as an adult. I look forward to either debunking these happenings and events or verifying that these happenings and events are actual paranormal activities that warrant further investigation. Brad Volkmer
I are an Engineer, BSEE from The University of Akron. I do not have proof that spirits do or do not remain on earth. Nor is it necessary that I find that proof. I do however have proof that we all have souls. But what is necessary is that I help Marcia and this group help people. I can do that with math, science and an analytical mind, which have been my stalwart companions for nearly a quarter century in my professional career, and ever shall they be. Also, I'm a technology gadget geek and these folks need gadgets ;D. I have been watching TAPS of course. They are the pro's from Dover, or New York actually :). I have not been on an investigation as yet. I am looking forward to the opportunity. The next scheduled investigation at this point will be the Mansfield, OH Reformatory in May, which is right near where I grew up in Bucyrus. A few of my high school friends will join us as we haven't seen each other for nearly 30 years. Past Experience: None
